Generals engine was outdated at release already. It's a soon 20 year old game (urgh..) and for that time it's acceptable. But not great. At a similar time "Act of War" was released and looks like a game released +5 years after generals. If you liked Generals, I can only recommend AoW since it has basically everything a C&C has.
